Somebody has been trying to extort money from me
Somebody has been trying to extort money from me and I have electronic proof of this. How do I lay a criminal charge against him and where? In the area where I live or where he lives? Is there any limit on the time I need to do this? And do I need a lawyer to do so?

Lawyers can assist you to lay charges at a police station but you don’t need one to do so. They can also follow up the case on your behalf. There is no time limit to laying a criminal charge. You can simply walk into the charge office of your nearest police station. A statement will be taken from you by an officer, and if there is a case, a docket with a reference number will be open. The matter then goes to an investigation officer who will investigate the matter and transfer it to the area where the perpetrator lives. If there is a case the perpetrator will be arrested or summoned to court to answer the charge. You must assist the investigating officer with all the evidence you have.
