Can I sue the lawyer?
What recourse do I have for the deliberate humiliation and embarrassment inflicted by the malicious actions of a local attorney? He caused the Sheriff to execute a warrant to attach my property at my workplace rather than at my home. I do not deny that a judgement was taken against me for debt owed. Now my manager is livid and wants an explanation. I have also lost face among my work colleagues. Can I sue the lawyer?

Your best course of action is to report him to the law society of the area. If your facts are correct then and his intent was to humiliate you. This conduct is unacceptable and he should be sanctioned. You can sue him for for pain and suffering but that will be a long short. The process will be long, expensive, and the damages that may be awarded will not be worth your while. And one never knows the defences the lawyer may come up with, including a mistake.
