DUI (Driving under the influence of alcohol)
I was stopped outside my gate at with is a gated community, as i opened, the offices pulled out there weapons and arrested me and told me that the car was suspected of being stolen. i told them the car was mine and they should check the glove box for proof. the officers searched the car and they found nothing and instead, arrested me for DUI. We took blood testing and The following Monday i went to court and the blood results were not received be the courts, i was given a letter stating that,
“This letter serves as confirmation that [name surname] attended court today on 08th July 2019 from [Time to end time]. the matter has been finalized to provisionally withdrawn.
Can this matter be reinstated and what does this mean for me going forward.
Hello. The matter is provisionally withdrawn for the results of the blood test. If the blood/alcohol limit is above the limit ( 0.05gm per 100 ml ) the prosecutor will send you a summons to appear in court to answer the charge of driving under the influence of alcohol. Due to a backlog at the forensic science lab, it usually takes some months for the results. If it is below the limit, the matter remains withdrawn with no consequence. Check with the investigating officer about the results after 3 months. If you get summonsed to court, take a lawyer with you. You might have a defense. The penalty is usually a fine if you are a first offender.
