Credit card harassment.
I have settled my credit card, with Standard Bank, 6 years ago and closed the account. 6 years later I receive legal calls, sms’s, and letters. Have had to contact the bank several times to stop the harassment. I have 2 letters from the bank confirming that i have no further dealings with them. Kindly advise…

First send them a warning letter to the effect that you are being unlawfully harassed and that their conduct is a criminal act amounting to extortion. That you will be taking civil and criminal action if it continues. If possible speak to the manager at the credit card department with that message, warning them to desist. They can also verify that those threatening letters actually come from the bank. It sometimes happens that real criminals get hold of your present or past liabilities, pretend to be the bank, and scare you to pay them in installments. You can also block those numbers and simply ignore them.
