Public Holiday & Sunday
Good Day
I would to know if it is a must to work public holidays and Sundays please? Our employer say it isxa must. Could u please give the correct details?

Hello, In terms of section 18 of the BCEA, to work on public holidays is not compulsory unless there is a collective agreement or individual contract providing such. Section 16 provides that Sunday work is not compulsory but if it falls on a normal working day, an employee must be paid. Hope I have answered your question
