Is it a private sale or dealership? There must be an agreement on the offer as well the acceptance. However, if you proceed to conclude the transaction without seeking clarity over the differentiation you are likely to be bound.
There is no cooling off period for the sale of new cars. With used cars the deal must have been concluded by direct marketing, or at any other place apart from the dealerships premises or the finance house. Even then the Consumer Protection Act only allows 5 days cooling off. Courts will first interpret a written agreement and will not listen to the verbal component unless there is ambiguity in the interpretation of the written one ( Ceteris paribus Rule ). In conclusion you cannot return the vehicle unless the dealer agrees to take it back ( with penalties ).
