Hi, I have a major issue… my family is traveling to Malaysia in December, we’ve booked everything via a travel agency and my parents needed new passports as it needs to be expiring at least six months after December. When getting new passports, Home Affairs said their marriage is listed as fraudulent which we knew nothing of as they’ve been married for 21 years so they can’t get passports.
It’s been months since we tried sorting everything out but as the deadline closes in.. we’re getting no help whatsoever from Home Affairs and we’ve tried seeking help from Wits law advisors.
What can we do??
In declaring the marriage fraudulent, the department of home afffairs must give reason(s) in writing in support of its position. And, if your parents feel strongly about the authenticity of the marriage, it is the reason(s) as furnished by the department that must be challenged.
