The employee is an extension of the employer. The principle of Vicarious liability of the employer says that an employer will be liable for the negligent conduct of his/er employee if it is established that the employee acted in a negligent way while carrying on his/her employment duties. In your case, it is within the employer’s premise to compensate the third party and then claim from you either a part or the total claim amount.
