Are holiday guests entitled to compensation for?
Are holiday guests entitled to compensation for fleas that appeared through no fault of ours? We sign specific short term lease through a company for our holiday home. This year it looks like this one particular company outsourced their functions to Company B with whom we have no contract. Now guests from Germany are claiming compensation for fleas that invaded the carpet during a heat wave. We have our carpets always professionally cleaned. Who is liable?

It will all depend on the contractual agreement you have with company A, and what their responsibilities are. If they outsourced their functions and diligence to Company B which was negligent, then Company A should sort out the problem. However for any claim of compensation to succeed the complainant or plaintiff must prove fault or negligence on your part, which does not seem to be the case here. Ask company A to resolve the issue amicably with the guests. Perhaps a free dinner or discount on their next holiday trip.
