Some company does not pay me for a work
I created a supplier database and various master bills of quantities for a construction company for which I was paid without any problems. I am a young quantity surveyor running my own business. The agreement was that I would be paid for each completed task. My final invoice of about 18000 rand has hit a roadblock as the company now claim they want to ‘ test it “ before payment. It has been 6 months, and I suspect the general manager is behind this non payment. I had a fight with him on a few occasions. I need the money urgently. What do I do?

Try a few more emails to the CEO of the company. It might be that they are having cash flow problems. If you don’t get a satisfactory answer you should get an attorney to send them a letter of demand for the outstanding balance, failure to which you will have no option but to sue to recover the money and cost of suit. Alternatively if you are in dire straits you can reduce your claim to 12000 and go cheaply to the small claims court. You may find an attorney online at
