Payment Queries Dispute
My boss asked for his telkom home line to be cancelled in Nov 2015, however only on 18/02/2017 were we given the correct forms to enable this. He asked for the cancellation amount as at end Nov 2015, however we have no communication from the to confirm the final amount. The account was handed to an attorney in July 2017, total amount R1581.19 Can and how do we dispute this amount and find out what it should have been end November 2015. Was advised that my boss was listed on the credit bearea by telkom. Would need to know the process to remove him as well.

Good day. All will depend on the contract your Boss signed with Telkom. He should get a copy and check for the clauses on duration, cancellation, and breach. If he is not sure that he is on solid legal grounds, I suggest he makes arrangements to pay the amount in installments, if he cannot settle at once. Litigating the relatively small amount will consume his time and money, not to mention the escalation of legal cost. He can then ask for his removal from the credit bureau. Otherwise here is a useful link on how to dispute credit bureau listings as per the National Credit Act. http://www.experian.co.za/consumer-services/consumer-dispute-process.html
