The company says their policies don’t extend insurance over the age of 70
My mother has been insured with this company for years. She recently received correspondence from his insurance company asking her to provide a medical certificate from a doctor to say she is fit to drive a motor vehicle. My Mum is 85. The company says their policies don’t extend insurance over the age of 70. Is this standard procedure? What should my mother do?
Once your mother has been insured by the company irrespective of age and has a valid driver’s licence , they have no right to amend the contract and impose new obligations You should ask for a copy of the policy and its schedules and check the terms. If there is no such provision, then the company is on the wrong track and should be so informed.
